La Grave is synonymous with legendary Tour de France mountain passes. Col du Lautaret, Col du Galibier, Col du Telegraphe via Galibier, Col d’Izoard, and Alpe-d’Huez have left their mark on this race, and are part of its living legend. The Tour de France usually passes very close to our Bikers Lodge in La Grave, making it a perfect stop for those who want to combine watching a stage or two from our terrace with cycling the Alpine passes themselves. The Marmot Cycling Race also goes through La Grave at the beginning of the summer.
